My name is Noemie Ng-Triquet and Belle Âme is my clothing brand. I am a 17-year-old mixed French and Cantonese girl currently living in Shanghai.

Throughout my life, I have always had a passion for design and fashion. In addition to this, mental health has always been an area of passion for me, and wanting to both help myself and others who have struggled is so important to me. There is such a negative stigma around mental health, which I want to change because everyone struggles from time to time, so it’s about time we start talking about it. Creating a business has always been a dream of mine, but I also knew I wanted it to mean more, so I decided to also advocate and spread messages through my clothing business.
How this started:
This whole idea started a year ago, when I was shopping for clothes and found that the designs on so many clothes were so cool. At that moment, I also thought to myself, “I could make designs as well”. This is where it all started, through a passion for the designs on clothes. I decided to get my laptop out and start designing different logos and cute designs that could potentially go on clothes.
As this went on, I also thought about how I could turn this into a real business, so I decided to think of a name for the brand, and I came up with Belle Âme. However, at this point everything was more of an idea than an actually plan, but as I kept designing, I believed that this could become something serious.
As I progressed, I realized that I also wanted it to advocate for something. I came up with the perfect idea of mental health, throughout the past few years, it has been a very big part of my life, having struggled myself and also seeing so many others with the same struggles. Through this idea, I decided to make the designs have a positive message, and I wanted the brand to be known as one that supports those struggling with their mental health.
